Magic Kingdom

Thursday we woke up bright and early to head to the Magic Kingdom so we would be there when they opened for resort guests. Here we are leaving our campground to hop on a bus that takes us to a boat that drives us to the dock in front of the Magic Kingdom.

We arrived just in time... they have a cute little opening ceremony with some favorite characters.

Their first Disney ride ever.... Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Shoot the targets to earn points and save the Galaxy from the evil emperor Zurg!

Get 'em 'Manda!
And after that we tried our hardest to ride everything else... : )

Logan really enjoyed the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House. He just recently saw the movie and LOVED IT so it was very exciting for him to experience it in person.

View from the tree house... you can see the castle behind Amanda.

Gayle and I had dueling cameras... between the two of us we took over 270 pictures just on Thursday alone! It was hard deciding what to post, but if you like, I can make you look at all 270 pictures. : )
We took full advantage of the Fast Pass system that lets you print a ticket for popular rides and come back when it's your time rather than wait in the long lines. One of the rides we did that for was the ever popular Splash Mountain! Our time is up, so we're OFF!

The ride tells a story of Brer Rabbit. Right before the splash, we see the rabbit get caught by the Brer Fox and Brer Bear. OH NOOOO!!!

(... and after! It was super hot so a little refreshing spray was most welcomed.)

By then, it was hot, the kids were tired, and we all needed a break. We headed to the front entrance for a much needed siesta and caught the Making Memories Parade.

Amanda was so cute. She was shouting, hollering, and waving frantically at all the characters.
Then the princess came out and he was in heaven. :)

All five of us took some kind of nap. The kids slept for 2 hours! You know your kids are tired when they ask you to leave an amusement park so they can take a nap! : ) HA!

We headed back after dinner to watch the night time fireworks program and ride some more rides in the cool evening air.

This is the first time in my life I have let the kids stay up until midnight. Good thing they had that nap!
