Christmas 2014

I am getting caught up on my blog posts and here is everything to do with Christmas.  I have been getting worse each year with my picture taking and this year I didn't even take my camera to one family gathering.  : (  I'm going to blame it on the fact that this was a super busy month and I was not ready for Christmas!

Christmas Eve we went out to Grandpa's Woods (Sorry Grandma. The kids insist they are HIS woods!)  :)  We made some treats for the birds and hung them around the property.

I tried to snap a few present photos but I really only got good before pictures.

The were the only two "action" gift shots I got.  But hey!  They're good!

That evening we trekked through the mud to visit the Magic Tree.  It was beautiful!

 Christmas Day.

It was a gun lovers Christmas for sure!

Amanda's big Christmas present was a guitar.
Here are a few other action shots.  Again, not the best at remembering to take the photos.  *sigh*

Christmas Day we headed to the farm to celebrate with more family.  We continued the gun theme and an air-soft battle ensued.

Even little peace loving Amanda joined in.  Her battle cry was heard for miles!

Back inside we finished opening gifts.

 MERRY CHRISTMAS INDEED!

First Snow of the Season

So far this school year the kids have had one snow day.  This is the teeny tiny snow fall that caused school to be canceled.  WOW!  I measured a WHOLE INCH!!!!  Nonetheless, the kids enjoyed their day off to the fullest.

Poor Amanda had to make a snow angel on the driveway since there wasn't enough snow in the grass.
It turned out pretty good!  Then she drew a face on it and it now looks frightened.  : )
Logan made a snow bed.  Looks very comfy!

Here is our first snowman of the year.  Pitiful little guy, huh?
The kids were outside by 9 am sliding down the side hill.

After lunch I took them to the big sledding hill here in town, but there wasn't enough snow to really slide.  Logan had an idea to check out the local skate park.  We had a ball sliding down the ramps, but it was already melting away and the bottom was very slushy!

Logan's Winter Band Concert

Better late than never!  : )  Here are the videos from Logan's Winter Band Concert.

Logan is on the far right side... I had Eric hold the camera since he was sitting on that side in the hopes that you could see Logan better.

Holiday Cheer

We've been getting into the holiday spirit around here....

Our friendly Elf on the Shelf decorated the children's rooms with toilet paper.  Very festive!
Logan was not amused.
(Please pardon the messy rooms.  They are typical kids and have not learned the fine art of cleanliness).
Amanda said that her giraffe was "mummified".  : )

We have also attended many holiday parties.  One such event was hosted by the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.  Eric and Amanda had some fun at the arts and craft table.

Okay, I got into the spirit a little too.

Amanda love love loves face painting so of course we had to stop at that station.
I swear Logan was there too.  He took off to explore on his own so no photos of him this time!

The kids also attended a holiday party for Camp Quality at Arrowhead Stadium.  There was a balloon artist that make hats for the kids.  I think Amanda's was the tallest!
Logan spent most of his time in the Nerf room.
We were also invited to tour the stadium!

The bottom of this sign has hand prints (hard to see) from the Chiefs players.  They smack the sign as they walk town the stairs to head out to the field for good luck.  As you can see my monkeys don't even come close to touching the sign!

 Awwwwwwww

I guess now we will need to go back when the seats are filled for the full experience!
