Houston Zoo

Eric decided that we should go to the zoo instead of the space center here in Houston. He read some reviews online and decided that the kids would be bored with it. Thankfully I brought my Sedgwick Co Zoo membership card! (They offer reciprocal privileges to members of other zoos)

We found this funky fish that fascinated all of us. Look at Amanda's face... she says's "WHAT IS THAT?!?!"
Check out his thing... it floats on top of the water with two eyeballs sticking up.... it also has two eyes under the water too so it can see above and below at the same time!!! TOO COOL!

Can you see the five pairs of eye balls floating in the water???

By far, our personal favorite was this awesome tunnel that lets you crawl through the Parana tank.
The kids went through numerous times.

Man, those Paranas sure look mean!!!

Petting zoo that allows you to brush rather than feed the goats.... LOVE IT!!!

Prairie dog tunnel that lets you pop up inside the exhibit!

This was a very nice zoo... fairly compact so there wasn't a lot of walking from each animal.... however still too big to see all of in a day. The best part I didn't even get on film... we road the train (public transportation) from our hotel to the zoo down town. It was SO nice not to have to fight traffic and find parking. What a great adventure for the kids.
