What a wonderfully cool and rainy Sunday it has been! After lounging around most of the morning doing NOTHING (oh what a joy) we did many family crafting projects.
Our first endeavor was to make a twig Halloween tree. The kids helped me trim all the leaves off this branch and set it in concrete to make it nice and sturdy. Then we sat down and created these bead ornaments to adorn our tree.
Then Amanda got a wild hair up her nose to sew a bat. I helped her cut out the material (that she chose - teddy bear fabric for a bat???) and I showed her how to sew it. We used the sewing machine for some and filled it with fiber fill and she hand sewed the bottom closed. She did a great job and didn't stick herself with the needle even once! Logan also got on the sewing bandwagon. He make a ball so he and his dad could play catch in the house. I'm not sure where it ran off to or I would have a photo of that too! He didn't need any mommy help except to tie the knot.
Our last project was to build hunted houses from a kit I bought last year.
It turned into a full family event and lasted over an hour.
But they turned out super cute and we all enjoyed the family time.
