This year the kids' Spring Break was a little early to my thinking considering that Spring doesn't officially start until March 20th, but we made the most of it nonetheless.
We headed to Tulsa and the kids and I enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool while Eric worked. Poor Eric. : (
We also enjoyed an afternoon at the aquarium.
Feeding the turtles carrot strips was the highlight for Amanda!
And LOOK! Eric got to join us for some of the fun too!
Back home, Logan wasn't ready for the festivities to end. He wanted to have a campfire and roast his dinner. Where we are living now there isn't a place to do that so we called up some friends and invited ourselves over.
They were very accommodating in building a rip-roaring fire.
What a beautiful night for lighting stuff on fire.
On Saturday we enjoyed the beautiful weather at our town's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The kids got gobs of candy, but there were also other treats being handed out, like these yummy oranges. Don't they look delicious?
Amanda tried to keep track of all the horses and dogs in and at the parade, but she lost count somewhere between 52 dogs and 18 horses. : )
I'm not sure if she counted this one as a horse or a dog.
The kids were not done enjoying the fresh air so we stopped by a new local park and I guess someone else had the same idea. This place was PACKED! I have NEVER in my entire life see so many families enjoying a playground. There were LINES to play on the equipment! We only stayed a short while because it was time to head to see the LEGO MOVIE!
The craziest thing about our Spring Break was waking up Sunday morning, our last day of Spring Break, to see SNOW falling from the sky!!! WHAT?!?!?! We went from 68 degrees to 31 degrees in 12 hours. This is what happens when you plan a Spring Break when it's still officially winter I guess.
Oh, and Amanda really, really, REALLY wanted to cut her dad's hair. Don't worry. Eric still has some left. : )
