Staying Cool With Our Cousins

We have Logan and Amanda's Cousins (The Three D's) here this week. Yesterday was HOT but they REALLY wanted to play outside so after a little water play, they felt ready to jump on the trampoline and drive the power wheel cars.

Police Man VS Gymnast

Sorry to the delay in the post of our fun activities this week. It's been HOT and we've spent a lot of time at the pool, however it's hard to get some good photos there. Here are some other highlights from our week.

Tuesday was National Night Out were area police departments sponsor actives in the community to promote safety awareness. Logan and Amanda spend over 30 minutes checking out the KBI wagon. The police officer were was super nice and took Logan on a behind the scenes tour.

He even turned on the power so Logan could push buttons and slip switches. The boy was in heaven! And now he how wants to be a police officer when he grows up! My how the wind does change.

There were also some large utility vehicles like this giant street sweeper that the kids could explore...

But it just couldn't compare to the awesome police truck!

Friday we went to a birthday party for a friend at the local YMCA. It was a gymnastics party with tons of cool bars, beams and obstacle courses to try, but our family spent the majority of the time in the foam pit!

So the idea is that you jump down the long trampoline and dive into the foam pit at the end. I tried to get some action shots and they turned out okay... there wasn't a lot of light to work with (and some VERY fast action!)

Then Logan go the idea to bury his father in foam.

Peek, I see you!

Who knows, maybe Logan will want to be a gymnast next. Does that pay well?

NO TRAINING WHEELS

Today was the long awaited day. I removed Logan's training wheels on his bike! He's been asking for a "big kid" bike for a while, but during his treatment we didn't think it wise to allow a child that couldn't stop bleeding to ride. Go figure. And after treatment... well, it was winter, then a very busy spring, and a not stop summer. But today it was relatively nice outside so there you go! Please pardon the dirty camera lens. I didn't notice until after the big event. (Another reason to not let your 6 and 4 year-old take photos with your camera right after breakfast!)

HE IS HOME

This morning Amanda asked me at 7 a.m. if we could go get Logan now.

AWWWWWWW!

I guess she missed him after all! : ) We picked him up just before lunch time and I think Logan missed us too. He said he had a great time but was very happy to be home. And I think he was going through wii withdrawal. hee, hee, hee!

Christmas In July

I think this is a first for the record books for me. I've always been an early shopper for Christmas gifts, but this year takes the cake. Some friends of mine here in Wichita tipped me off that Target was having their 75% off toy clearance today so, of course, Amanda and I had to check it out. I found so many great deals that I ended up getting all my Christmas shopping done for all the kids in my family! : ) The hard part will be remembering where I hid them all come December.

The Boy LIVES!

Day 4, with no word from Logan since Sunday night...

Eric came home from work today in a tizzy. Enough was ENOUGH! "We're calling the camp!" He called several numbers before finally reaching the directer of the camp. He explained how there was no emergency, he just wanted to speak with his son. She tracked Logan down (after Karaoke and before the ice cream social) and was able to talk to him for a few minutes. He's having a grand time, swimming lots and making new of friends. I wasn't able to talk to Logan (I was at a meeting) but I feel better as well, knowing that the boy is alive and well.
